Birth Place Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada eh

I was raised in a single parent household by my mother , Helen (Way to go Mom! I think you did an amazing job!). :)
At the age of 10, my stepfather entered the scene. Still trying to decide if that was a good thing
or a bad thing in my life.
OK, In one way it was a single parent household, but in another it wasn't. My aunt Carole
(who was also raisng 2 children on her own) played a major role in my life. I guess you could say
she was like a second mother. Both she (aunt) and my mother helped each other out with the upbringing
of all 3 of us kids. So I may not have had a father figure there all my younger years, but in a way I
think this was much better.
Most of my younger years were spent living in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. (Five hours North of Toronto)
and Parry Sound, Ontario (Georgian Bay) area. Which I think contributes greatly to my love of the bush
and wildlife. Both places being surrounded by it all.
Hated school back then, can't say I really enjoy it now either. LOL (ok, when I was
attending I mean). Failed to finish HighSchool, dropping out at age 16. Bad move!
Which I regret doing. And plan to one day go back and get my O.S.S.D.
I did though, get partial credit (Computerized Bookkeeping) when I went back to college as a
"mature student", but alas, due to financial reasons could not continue.
I have always loved art and drawing, anything really in that area (Robert Bateman being my all-time favorite).
When I was 14 (if I remember the age correctly) I was one of 3 people in Ontario
to be accepted for enrollment into an Art Instruction School. Being the youngest
person they had accepted for enrollment.
Created 2 book covers in my teens, One for the West Parry Sound Board of Education,
Dealing with Educating Mentally Challenged Children. And the other was for a Linda Louis...
Silent Anger was the book title. She has yet to finish it...slow ass...LOL. But when she does
the royalties will be nice from my contrubution. :)
Started working at the age of 14, getting piddly little P/T jobs here
and there with various companies. Bridal Boutique, Dickie Dee Ice Cream , McRaunchies
(quit laughing eh) etc.
Landed my first stable job when I was 16 working for a locally owned shop,
Winnie's Pet Warehouse (Northern Ontario's largest exotic fish dealer) which had been around for over 18 yrs at that point. Stayed
with them for almost 5 years before moving on. The business folded not long
after I left.
From there I moved onto bigger and better. Same field, different company.
Spent the next 4 years after that with a retail pet chain, Pet Food Warehouse.
Assistant manager, in charge of the exotic tropicals for all 17 of the chains locations
throughout Canada. Scarey thing here? Is that I know WAY too much about dog kibble and
cat litter. That can't be good. LOL Will say this, Pigs ears ain't half bad tasting!
And of course, from dealing with fish for so many years, I am a HUGE Freshwater Tropical
fish fanatic! Actually I think I started into fishkeeping before I started working the pet trade.
My memories failing me in my old age eh! Dealt in everything from guppys to snakeheads over the
years. Having at one point, 9 aquariums on the go ranging from 20 - 110 gallons.
The last few years though I focused more into the breeding of a few select Pseudotropheus species
(Cichlids) before selling all and taking a breather from it all. Ok will shut up on that subject
as I can go on for HOURS about it all and bore anyone to sleep with it all. LOL
On February 25th, 1998, One of the most Important men in my life passed away. My Grandfather, a Mr Robert Norman M,
at 86 years of age. :( My memories of this kind, gentle, loving man are numerous and will never fade, no matter how many years
may pass. This man taught me how to fish, got me started in my "tinkering" (messing around with household repairs etc.)
how to camp out, how to use a canoe...and many other numerous things that I am now a better person for having learned. I had the
extreme honour of being one of the Pall Bearers caring him to his final resting place.Along with myself, there were my cousins,
James M, and Peter S. and my step father Dave O. I was appearently the only female Pall Bearer they had in
the history of Parry Sound Services. (Strong..like bull, I am...LOL) Love you Gramps, Always and Forever!! XOXO
OK I'll move on.....Hmmmmm ok well after living in Sudbury for 20 some odd years, I moved to
London...Ontario eh! Spent a few months there . Meeting and making some great friends. :) Then moved on
through the states, hitting places such as Detroit, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Wichita Falls,
Nashville, Memphis, and eventually parked my ass in Carlsbad, New Mexico! What a beautiful State!
Fortunately I hit there at ther right time of year...FALL!! I missed all the 116 degree temps by only a few weeks
AWWWWWWW!! lol Glad I did, I would have went insane.
January 22nd, 1999..... I lost my Aunt Carole. :(
This woman meant the world to me, I considered her to be like a second mother. My dear old "auntie". At 56 years of age, a life taken much too soon. A kinder more giving person you could not find in this world.
Just the thought of not having her here still brings tears to my eyes. I LOVE YOU AUNTIE!!!
Hmmm lets see, I remained in Sudbury until August of 1999, at which time I moved to Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
October 23rd, 1999... I moved into a bigger apartment from the current shared accomadation situation I was in.
Yet another loss in my family, August 11th, 2000, my stepfather Dave passed away at work of a severe heart attack. He was 47 years old. I have mixed feelings about this. I am sad but not. It is difficult to understand.
I am hoping that one day I can elaborate more on the recent happenings in my life, but until then, this will have to do. I hope you have enjoyed your tour through my life and please do check back for updates.
